Although Willem never had any interest in art at all, he possesses the right
ingredients: he is handy, practical & precise.
When he told me that he wanted to take a painting course, I was astonished but
convinced that he would do well. Since that time, no one can stop him anymore.

Willem has never had an interest in the arts.
In 2004 he discovers painting that he did not know and since then
he paints tirelessly and nothing can stop him anymore.
It is a journey at least unusual that of this painter; his paintings are
successful while he knew nothing about art before 2004.
The freshness of the theme he expresses is very rural;
he loves nature and the works of man in it.
His painting "Le bal des foins" reminds us of a painting by Van Gogh entitled
"Moissons en Provence" painted in 1888, with the difference that the sheaves of
harvested wheat are replaced by rolls of straw, meaning that times have changed as
we are now in the 21th century, but the rendering and the poetry remains intact.
Willem Lina is a discreet and quite person; his paintings are talking for him.
